It’s affordable and in some cases free, and easy to implement, and it has the ability to put you in a an excellent position to earn a great living. However, it requires a strategy.
Because blog posts are one of the basic components of your online presence, they provide the foundation for any online empire. If they are missing key ingredients, you’ll never make a connection with the people you’re trying to reach.
The Benefits of Blogging
If you're not having success, it may feel like blogging is a waste of time. Don't give up yet... keep in mind the following benefits. Blogs are the easiest way to (1) own, control and monetize your content, (2) track your results, and (3) brand your business or reinforce an existing brand. No matter what you’re selling or providing, a blog provides a hub where all your marketing content resides. When readers visit your “hub” what will they receive?
There’s a little more to blogging than writing an article, throwing in a picture or two and pushing the “publish” button. There’s even more to blogging than finding keywords, even though the right keywords will help you show up in search results. A lot has to happen after readers click on your article to ensure that you make money.
If you're not optimizing your blog posts and adding value for your readers, you are leaving money on the table. Readers will click on your link, and if they don’t find what they are looking for, they will leave. Simple. To attract qualified customers you have to give them what they are hungry for.
To accomplish your blogging goals, whether you want to monetize your blog, increase your readership, or both, you have to determine what you want to accomplish and the best way to reach your goals. Once you know what you want and who you want to appeal to, you can create posts that will help you meet those goals.
To help you reach your goals, we've created a free blog post transformation checklist to help you transform your posts from non-eventful reads into powerful virtual sales pages that will help you reach your goals faster.
Use the blog post transformation checklist each time you write a blog post, and after a few times it will become second nature. You might also consider using the checklist to spruce up some of your older posts as well.
If you follow the guidelines on this checklist, your blog will have a consistent theme that tells readers who you are and what you can do to help them. Using suggestions in the checklist will also provide you with data that will help you learn what is working (or not).
Here's a Sneak Peak

Download the checklist for the ten (10) remaining tips that will recharge your blog and help you meet your business and financial goals!
Tip 1: To generate more traffic for your blog posts, make sure the first two lines or so of content really stands out and grabs your reader’s attention. When your blog post shows up in search engine results, you want captivating titles and content to entice your audience to read more. You only have a second or two to capture the reader and compel him or her to click on your link.
In the example below, the red arrow points to the search results where the first two lines or so of content will appear in search engine results.
Tip 2: You’ll want to write your blog posts in a conversational tone, like you’re sharing a story with a friend. When thinking about what to write consider content that informs (news), entertains (funny experiences and stories), and educates (how-tos) to add value for your readers. Give readers something they can take away from the article other than your sales pitch. Put yourself in the place of your readers and ask yourself how you would benefit from receiving your article.
When you write salesy promotional material in your blog posts, people will tune out. Have you ever known someone who was trying to sell you something every time they saw you?
Most people don’t want to be “sold” anything. They will do their best to move away from salesy people. Avoid at all costs sounding like you’re trying to “sell” your audience and they will continue to read your content.
This is not personal, but in reality, no one cares about your product, or your company, or your opportunity, unless you can show them how it will help them solve their problem.
