I'm Marvelyn Brown, a web designer and content creator with over 15 years of experience building assets on WordPress (websites, shops, blogs, lead generation, landing pages and sales pages) for new and existing business owners.  

I started this business to share what has helped me, and empower aspiring entrepreneurs to build flexible, thriving online businesses.  

A Hobby That Turned Into a Business

Today, I'm happily retired. But when I was working, my career included a background in information technology, biotech and regulatory compliance. 

Over the years I also learned graphic design at my local community college, and I learned to knit and crochet. My craft room is full of jewelry making, various machines, fiber arts and Cricut crafting materials that I used to make a variety of items for my friends and family. 

Crafting and creating is what I really enjoy. I could sit in my craft room, making things by hand and designing online using my iPad all day and never get bored or burned out. As a matter of fact, I just ordered the loom (shown here) to make it easier to create blankets this Winter. 

I've taken my love of crafting and web design and turned it into a WordPress blog, a shop and a number of digital products, POD products and affiliate products that I use to earn passive income. 

This business grew from my frustration, (especially when I was working full time and traveling for work), in finding enough hours in the day to squeeze in my business. I struggled to balance my love of crafting and creating by hand with earning enough money to support the lifestyle I wanted for my family. 

At first my crafts weren't enough to make consistent income, and there are only 24 hours in a day, so I could only make so many items to sell. 

So I had to find a way to make it work, finding the right tools and resources to have my business running while I worked on my crafts, grew my business and took care of my other responsibilities. 

I found that it was literally impossible to make products, maintain a level of quality and enjoyment, while being on my computer following up on emails, participating in craft fairs, posting on social media, finding and designing popular designs and creating content for my audience. It was way too much.

The first breakthrough I had was in finding a course that taught me to automate my business. Once I determined that automation could "untie" me from my desk, I was able to thrive and breathe much easier. As I learned more and more, and started getting more results, I wanted to share it with other creators. 

My biggest business asset was (and still is) my blog. I always had a blog and over the years it's grown to the point here now, it's packed with information and ideas that entrepreneurs want and need to start and grow a business. I leveraged that content to connect with my audience.  

I also became an affiliate for the products I used to grow my business. And I also found digital products that my audience wanted, and started designing and selling those as well.
