When it comes to sharing deals online and on social media networks, it's important to follow the rules of each platform to ensure that you get cash back and keep your account in good standing.
When it comes to social media, be sure to read the terms and conditions for each platform you sign up with. Most people share the referral links they receive from each platform. It's important to share in a way that keeps your account active. Savvy people are building systems that turn referrals into steady cash.
This article shows you cash back best practices and systems that help you stop chasing referrals and start attracting them while achieving your goals while following the rules.
Social Media and Referrals
Here is a list of things you should do when promoting cash back deals on social media:
- When you sign up for each cash back site, you will be given a referral link. Send email invitations to your friends, family, and associates to join through your referral link. It's best to communicate with people you have a business or personal relationship with.
To accomplish this, create a memorable profile and/or create a Pretty Link (if you have a WordPress blog or website) to make your referral link easy to remember and use. - Place your referral link in your email signatures. I don't link to any particular cash back site in my signature, I send people to a landing page that explains cash back in general giving them the ability to learn about the platforms I recommend.
- Participate in online communities/forums where people may be interested in cash back
- Create a video that explains cash back and features your referral link.
- Share appropriate cash back content, links, or ideas on your social media platforms and discussion boards

An Approach to Consider
We recommend creating your own profiles and platforms (self hosted solutions like WordPress, and Shopify) to include things like social media profiles, landing pages, websites, blogs that you can use to create content for your audience.
Having your own platform means you own and control your business and the products you promote. You can't be shut down or banned, unless you break the law... at least not at this point.
If you are shut down, you can take your platform (site and customers) and move them to another host, and continue moving forward.
Explaining concepts, educating your audience on best practices and well as sharing deals is the best way to make referrals.
Having your own platform means that you're engaging with people who know, like and trust you for information.
Email is also a great way to communicate with your audience. Having an email list means people have signed up to receive information from you making them a part of your community.
