Getting Organized with Course Modules
The course modules are like chapters in a book. They give you a high level view of the what the topics inside are about. You'll also get a glimpse into what you'll learn learn as they help you navigate through the course.
We realize that taking a course can be overwhelming and many times you're tempted to binge watch the videos and speed through without really learning anything. And we know that when building a site, the details matter.
Taking a Course Can Be Overwhelming
Because of that, we have put things in place to help you get the most out of the course. Many of our modules contain 6 written lessons, plus the videos and resources. You also need to have time to practice what is demonstrated in the video lessons and guides.
Building a blog is a new skill for many of you, and even though it's relatively easy for many people, it's important that you have time to focus. This will allow you to get through the information with ease.
You can take one module per week to give you time to take in the written information, videos, and resources. You might want to take notes and download any resources that come with the lesson.
Pacing yourself and taking time to understand and ask questions is going to give you a better experience, allowing you to learn at a pace that is consistent with learning.
We know that a lot of you are more than able to balance a lot of information at once. But we hope this pace will help you absorb the information, practice the demonstrations, and build sites that will help you reach your goals. You can always take it slower through the course and ask questions at any time.
Course Lessons
The lessons are where the real learning happens. These lessons are organized into bite sized pieces that you can take at your own pace. There are videos and text lessons that when combined give you the full picture of what is involved in the topic. The videos will also provide you with over the shoulder walk throughs of things like how to install software like themes and plugins.
Course Resources
Most of the lessons include resources or supplemental information that will help you dig deeper into the subject matter. There may also be documents you can download and keep to help you navigate WordPress once the course has ended.
Getting Help
If you have questions, at the end of each lesson, there will be a question that asks if you have any questions. If so, there will be a box under that section that will allow you to enter your first name, email address and your question. We will monitor these site for your questions and provide you with an answer within 24 hours.
